Why Your Metro Card Keeps Failing at Charbagh — Explained

Over the last month, more than a dozen readers have written in with the same complaint: their metro card works fine everywhere else, but fails specifically at Charbagh station's Gate 2.

We asked LMRC directly. The answer: Gate 2's reader has been running on outdated firmware since a software rollout in July, and a fix is scheduled but hasn't reached every station yet.

Until then, the workaround is simple — use Gate 1 or Gate 3, both of which are on the updated firmware and reading cards normally.

We'll update this piece once LMRC confirms the fix has actually reached Gate 2.
